Graphic Lines

BUY︎

Mint Never Hinged came off the back of years spent collecting design ephemera. Way before I set up @mintneverhinged I had painstakingly been collecting and researching stamp design in order to archive the forgotten and unknown designers behind them and to put out a publication of my own on the subject matter. However in 2015 we were approached by Unit Editions to publish a book on our collections and being big admirers of Unit Editions, Tony Brook and Adrian Shaughnessy we couldn’t resist. Even that book, as full as it is, merely scratches the surface of the collection as a whole.

About Iain Follett ︎

After studying Graphic Design and Film Studies at A Level I completed an Art Foundation Year which led to a place on the Graphic Design course at Nottingham Trent University. Graduating in 2000 I went straight into my first job at Un.titled in Leicester. From Junior Designer to Art Director I worked closely with brands such as Land Securities, Speedo, John Smedley, Soletrader and Portsmouth FC.

Outside of work I collaborated alongside my colleague and friend Darren Firth to co-design the book TWO FACED along with accompanying exhibitions at Agnes B's Librairie Galerie in Hong Kong and at COSH in London.

Furthermore I co-organised the Midlands exhibition for Helvetica 50 with curator Mark Blamire (Blanka/Print-Process) and Mark Jessett (GF Smith).

In 2007 after getting itchy feet I decided to try something new. Along with 5 fellow co-workers we left Un.titled to co-found a new agency called, appropriately, Six. Which is where I work today as Design Director.

At Six I have overseen the rebrand of Washington DC based Architect Lehman Smith McLeish, worked with Uniform Wares and created a new product line identity for Swiss textile company Christian Fischbacher and rebranded the 200 year old company.

In 2015 I started the @mintneverhinged feed on instagram to showcase my collection of Graphic Stamps.

From the exposure of the Instagram feed I collaborated with Blair Thomson (@graphilately and CD at Believe In) and Unit Editions on a book called Graphic Stamps showcasing the best from our collections.
